by Harley mcALLISTER Our cousins in Montana just informed us about a cool event every spring that we did not know about. Each year the park closes its roads to snowmobiles and other winter travel on March 15th. From that time until the third Thursday in April, some of the roads are kept open for non motorized traffic, typically bicycling. We don't recommend bicycling with kids during the regular season because there are no bike lanes and little to no shoulders on those busy roads, and that makes it a hazardous undertaking for kids. But when the roads are closed to vehicles it would be a fantastic way to see the park at a time of year when the wildlife would be more visible. So, if you are near the park and can make a quick trip over, check out this website for more details so you can enjoy the wonderful Spring weather we are having in Yellowstone! |

AuthorWe, Harley and Abby, are the parents of 4 boys whom we regularly drag into any and every national park we come near to. We love our parks and know that the only chance we have of keeping and maintaining this priceless resource is to give our children a love of them too. Archives
